How long does it take to purchase a property?
Once you’ve found your dream home, the buying process can take anywhere between three and six months to complete, although this can vary from move to move.
How much deposit do I need?
When applying for a mortgage, the minimum deposit needed is usually 10%, but it can vary from 5% to 15% depending on factors such as which lender you opt for and whether you’re a first time buyer.
Do I need a mortgage agreed first?
You don’t technically need to have a mortgage agreed prior to putting in an offer on a house, however submitting a mortgage pre-approval letter along with your bid can work in your favour and put you ahead of the competition of rival buyers.

How do I make an offer?

Do I need a survey?
Although this is technically not a legal requirement, it would be extremely risky to purchase a property without conducting a survey first as the survey is there to confirm to the lender that there are no structural defects that would render the house an unsafe investment. It’s highly recommended to always seek out a surveyor during the buying process.
What happens if I decide not to buy the property?
There’s always the option to pull out if you change your mind – we understand that buying a house is a huge decision and we always want our customers to be sure they’re making the right one. If you decide not to buy, let us know as soon as you can and we’ll take it from there.
When do we “exchange contracts”?
Usually, buyers and sellers exchange contracts between one to four weeks prior to the completion date of the process. Once this is done, you will be able to move in.
